Description
This final skills workshop for 2025 includes the task delegation process, simple wound care, and removal of sutures in the morning and a practical venepuncture session in the afternoon.
The wound care session will cover how to clean a wound before removing interrupted sutures and applying a dry dressing. All wounds require clinical assessment by a registered health care professional. HCAs/ PCPAs should only be applying dressings or removing sutures if deemed competent by, and under the supervision of, a health care professional.
The venepuncture practical training is open to HCAs/ PCPAs who have successfully completed a compulsory theory module. Please note that attendance at this training does not ensure competence or result in certification. HCAs/PCPAs will be required to demonstrate competence in the workplace and have approval from their employer prior to routinely performing venepuncture.
Attendance Options:
This event is delivered in two sessions: morning and afternoon. Participants may choose to attend either session or both. Please ensure you select the appropriate option at the time of registration.
