Description
- Overview of best practice venous leg ulcer guidelines and atypical presentations.
- Describe risk factors, signs, and symptoms of arterial and venous leg ulcers.
- Discuss the principles of measuring the ankle brachial pressure index (ABPI) in the assessment of arterial disease.
- Discuss the principles and safety of applying compression in the prevention and treatment of venous leg ulcers.
- Skin care and the importance of compression hosiery post healing to reduce ulcer recurrence.
- Provide education for patients receiving compression therapy.
- District Nurses demonstrate competence in the application of compression therapy.
