• Topics include intimate partner violence and child protection.
• Partner abuse: Why ask? How to ask? What to say/do when she/he says yes
• Epidemiology of family violence and effects of violence on children
• Child abuse: principles/practice and the Child Protection National Alert system.
• Professional dangerousness, information sharing and working collaboratively with our community partners including Oranga Tamariki and the Police (Family Harm Team)
• This is an interactive learning style where discussions are encouraged with many opportunities to put this learning into practice.
Once Core Training has been completed it is a requirement for you to complete VIP Refresher training every 2 years.
