The aim of this workshop is to provide Nurses with advanced knowledge in cardiology and respiratory Nursing. The workshop is divided into two sessions, morning and afternoon. The Cardiology workshop is in the morning and a Respiratory workshop in the afternoon. Desired Learning Outcomes:
This workshop will provide more advanced skills and builds on top of the basic Cardio-Respiratory Workshop.
The cardiology morning will present a case scenario, cardiogenic shock, temporary and permanent pacing and cardiac catheterisation.
The respiratory afternoon session will discuss pulmonary embolism management including thrombolysis, spirometry, asthma and COPD management and blood gas interpretation.
Content:
Respiratory Workshop:
- Pulmonary embolism and thrombolysis
- Non-invasive ventilation (Minimal)
- Blood gas interpretation
- Spirometry
- Case Study
Cardiology Workshop:
- Case study
- Advanced cardiac anatomy and physiology
- Understanding cardiogenic shock
- Temporary and permanent pacing
- Cardiac catheterisation
