Description
Desired Learning Outcomes:
A PROMPT is a multi-professional training that aims to have participants practice managing maternity emergencies and local escalation procedures, while fostering good teamwork culture to improve outcomes. It is a clinically effective programme that focuses on teamwork, human factors, situational awareness, communication, and civility. The day is a compilation of short lectures, skills stations and SIM-based scenarios. It is a great opportunity for core midwives, LMCs, O+G (and anaesthesic) registrars/SMOs, house officers, PACU/PAR/ICU/MOT nurses to work together and practice managing obstetric emergencies together. The Heli-Otago Prompt focuses on care to be provided in primary settings and situations with transport requirement. The Heli-Prompt course is especially aimed at rural LMCs, core midwives in primary units, paramedics, ICU nurses, rural RNs and GPs, as well as emergency department doctors in primary units.
